Oilers and Panthers Open Stanley Cup Final

Connor McDavid scored and notched three assists to set a new playoff record, while Dylan Holloway scored twice, and Stuart Skinner made 32 saves in the Edmonton Oilers' 5-0 win over the Florida Panthers in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday. With the victory, the Oilers take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven series.

Sergei Bobrovsky stopped all 32 shots he faced for the shutout. Carter Verhaeghe scored the game-winning goal, and Sam Bennett also scored for the Panthers. The Panthers will look to even the series when they host the Oilers in Game 2 on Friday.
